			February ushers in a month of relative astrological calm. Jupiter's entry into Pisces on January 17th is now in the process of bringing about an upsurge in Neptune-oriented compassion, spirituality and artistic creativity to the life pulse of our collective consciousness. This energy is a continuation of the Jupiter/Neptune conjunction of last year. There is much that we need to be thankful for and much we need to give. The outpouring of assistance for the January 12th Haitian Earthquake vicitms from individuals both in the U.S. and worldwide is evidence that Jupiter in Pisces is doing its work. Within the first week following the quake, individuals in the U.S. texting an 800 number had raised more than 10 million dollars!      2010 and 2011 are unusual in that planet of expansion and good fortune Jupiter, usually stays in a single sign for one year, but this year and next it will traverse two. From January 17th to June 5th the artisitic and spiritual influence of Jupiter in Pisces will be strongly felt. Jupiter in Aries will then make an initial appearance from June 5th until September 8th when it will give us a preview of a new way of life coming our way in the 2010s. Jupiter in Aries brings good fortune and expansion to Aries-ruled new enterprises and entrepreneurship.      Another important planetary ingress that takes place this year is the movement of Uranus into Aries from May 28th to August 12th. Combine the pioneering Aries energy with the unexpected, revolutionary and brilliant energy of Uranus and you can begin to understand the concept of Uranus in Aries. We are now entering a very significant period of rebirth for our planet that will span the years 2010 to 2018. Along with this rebirth, we will experience geothermic, political and economic upheaval that comes with it. Jupiter's escort to Uranus in Aries this year and next is fortunate for it helps to cushion the harsh effect of such important changes.      Recent contacts between Jupiter and the outer planets in the last three signs of the zodiac of Capricorn, Aquarius and Pisces have signaled a period of endings. For the world economy, the period between 2000 when Jupiter conjuncted sturdy and materialistic Saturn in Taurus, contrasted against 2009 when Jupiter conjuncted Neptune in Aquarius and September 2010 when Jupiter in Pisces will conjunct Uranus in Pisces, signals the end of the era of the industrial age and corporate control of the world economy. During the 20th Century the human species had relative confidence in the corporate model of society (represented by the earth signs Taurus and Capricorn) as being a positive structure for ensuring competition and economic growth and sucess. The two past years since 2007 with the collapse of many banks and such stalwart companies as General Motors have shown that the old standard of corporate greed is no longer a reliable model to hang our financial hopes upon in the future.      This year Jupiter's entry into the cardinal fire sign of Aries and its conjunction with the radical and revolutionary planet Uranus signal the beginning of a era of bold, new, independent businesses and government. It is a time for planetary rebirth as both planets will conjuct the zero degrees Aries point which signals new beginnings. As the first sign of the zodiac, Aries is headstrong, bold and pioneering like the Ram, its animal symbol. While in Aries over the summer, Jupiter is likely to boost financial morale with previews of new types of business with which the U.S. can regain its economic standing. The thing to keep in mind is that some of these new types of business are not ready to go to market yet. So, investment in this summer's "sure thing" may be cause for tears of frustration as early as this fall. If you aren't in it for the longterm, don't invest. Jupiter will then go retrograde on July 23rd at three degrees Aries. Still in its retrograde, Jupiter will return to the latter degrees of Pisces on September 8th. Jupiter will re-enter Aries for its full uninterupted term as of January 22nd, 2011 and will remain in the sign of the Ram until June 4, 2011 when it moves on into Taurus, a fixed sign of manifestation. Under the influence of Jupiter in Taurus (June 4, 2011 to June 12, 2012) the actual creation of technologies discovered in the Aries period can become a reality. Fire signs such as Aries are also related to intuition, as is the planet Jupiter. There is some talk in metaphysical circles that 2010 signals the beginning of a mass spiritual awakening and an increase in intuition on the planet. This intuitional boost may later be incorporated into a technology we later refer to in some way as the "intra-net." New governments may also be seen during the Jupiter in Aries period, perhaps in Iran, Cuba and/or North Korea where a changing of the conservative guard seems to be imminent. Natural disasters such as earthquakes and resultant tsunamis in volcanic areas are likely to continue during this period due to the need for the earth to "rebirth" itself through volcanic eruption.      Along with the conjunction of Jupiter and Uranus in Aries in 2010, one of the main astrological features of the 2010s will be the strong square between the revolutionary voice of discontent and innovation: Uranus in Aries, and the familiar monotone of the old, pateralistic corporate world as symbolized by Pluto in Capricorn. This global aspect will last from 2012 to about the year 2018 and will cause many people worldwide to revolt against what they believe is a continued manipulation of the global economy. Whereas we were willing to be led in the 20th Century, we are no longer willing to blindly follow in the 21st. Cooperatives, Urban sustainability and green businesses of all kinds will allow people to progressively move "off the grid" of blind comsumerism.      Now let's return to the sitation at hand in February. Mercury moves into the sign of Aquarius from Wednesday, February 10th to March 1st at about 4:06 a.m. EST.
